#8: Alexa abilities
Something I for sure wanted to have in my Robot is the abilities of an Alexa or Google Assistant. So I found a few tutorials for this, unfortunately a lot of them didn't work and where outdated, because the Raspberry Pi 4 has only recently come out. Finally I found one that works; https://github.com/alexa/avs-device-sdk/wiki/Raspberry-Pi-Quick-Start-Guide-with-Script. A few problems I found where that for Belgium there are not a lot of capabilities available, like using Spotify, ... Also for the weather the Alexa asks to fill out your location in the Amazon developer tool but I feel like thats to much information of me to give. For the setup I used my brothers headset, for the microphone, my JBL Flip 4 box, ... But because my setup works only with an usb mic I needed a 3.5mm Jack transformer to USB, this I borrowed from my boyfriend. And then I got started with the above tutorial. The next steps will be finding a small enough music box for on the robot, that does not weight much. Another step I need to do is change the wake word with; https://github.com/kitt-ai/snowboy.
