I am going to discuss my first week in the project. So what I have done this week is;

  • gathered my components

  • researched and bought them

  • did some more research

  • made a plan of the robot

  • waited for my components

  • gathered some of the material for my MVP

  • received my Raspberry Pi 4 B and tested it

  • wrote my first line of Python — even thought it was only print("Hello World") it did feel good

  • tried bluetooth connection with my Raspberry Pi and my Android phone. Got connection for 1 second and then my Raspberry let me know there was nothing for him on my phone so he disconnected — still trying to fix that

  • started communication between my Raspberry Pi and my Arduino, I am still figuring this out.

For the communication between those two I will use python-serial and pyserial, which means I am going to send out commands from my Raspberry Pi over the serial ports to the Arduino Uno. I am following some tutorials for letting a LED blink but I have not yet succeeded. Here are the tutorials; https://maker.pro/raspberry-pi/tutorial/how-to-connect-and-interface-raspberry-pi-with-arduino , https://www.instructables.com/id/Connect-Your-Raspberry-Pi-and-Arduino-Uno/ .

For my MVP I am still waiting on my Servo motors, I bought 10 of them so I have 2 in reserve.

Next week I hope to accomplish communication between my Raspberry Pi and Arduino and also a working MVP.
